A microporous film designed for the sealing of tissue culture plates, bio-blocks, and 96-well plates where air and gas exchange are necessary for cell growth or bacterial cultivation. AeraSeal film minimizes well-to-well cross-contamination, sample spillage and evaporation while allowing for uniform air and CO2 exchange between all wells of the plate. The film is easily pierceable for direct sample recovery with a multichannel pipettor. No need to peel back the film in order to access the wells and risk aerosols. Features & Benefits Non-cytotoxic Available in both non-sterile and sterile packaging configurations. Two end tabs allow for easy and accurate positioning of the film to the plate and provide an ideal labeling area. The end-tab backing can be removed and the film applied around and over both edges of the plate for a more secure seal. The end-tabs are perforated to allow for easy removal in the event of interference with automated equipment. Non-sterile product is packaged in zippered bags within white boxes for easy opening, closing, stacking and storage. Sterile product is packaged 25 per bag, 2 bags per white box. We use high quality, tamper-evident, 4 mil zippered bags in order to ensure sterility. An economical alternative to plate covers. Microporous adhesive films provide a complete seal, whereas plate lids only act as covers. AeraSeal facilitates air exchange and the uniform aeration of living cells or bacteria while providing a complete seal to minimize cross-contamination, spillage and evaporation. A 4.5 mil porous film with a medical grade adhesive. Measures 3.25" by 5.625" for sealing tissue culture plates. Recommended for temperatures of -20?C to 80?C. Highly gas-permeable for efficient aeration. Unlike plate lids, AeraSeal film provides uniform air and CO2 exchange between all wells. Plate lids result in greater exchange around the periphery of the plate than in the center wells, producing inconsistent cell growth rates from well to well. Non-wetting hydrophobic barrier prevents accidental transfer of liquids. AeraSeal eliminates spillage which can occur with plate lids during transport, handling and shaking. Pierceable with a single or multichannel pipettor for direct sample recovery without the risk of aerosols and cross-contamination.
